Keep your technical skills sharp
Communication skills are very important in a nurse’s job, which often involves interactions with doctors, administrators, and patients. However, a certain level of technical literacy is also expected from nurses today. A lot of the work done in hospitals is electronic, and nurses should be competent enough to operate the necessary devices in their job. While advanced technical skills are hardly expected from nurses, recruiters do prefer nurses who know their way around computers and the internet.
